Druidawn Stories
Even more continuation of...

It was chaos up above, the Gryphon had killed someone, at least it only looked like one person…and as Rush had suspected Shp was causing the most damage, though he seemed to be bleeding as well. Rush and Huuh slipped through it all, leaping out of the way of falling objects and treading carefully in the places with damaged support beams, searching for the exit that was around somewhere.

One moment froze Rush in her tracks, she turned a corner and looked up to see the Centaur, he noticed her immediately and seemed to understand, in that moment, what had happened. His eyes had narrowed and he’d growled out an accusatory “You.” He didn’t have enough room to rear so he grabbed the nearest object, a candlestick, and swung it at her, it made contact with her arm and she shrieked as the bone let out a sickening crunch. He pulled back, ready to hit again, he probably would have killed her if a dragon hadn’t come barreling around the corner and run smack into his chest sending him tumbling somewhere down that corridor.

She didn’t wait for him to find her again, instead she turned back the way she come and went down another hall. Opening a door at random, she found the food storage room and it occurred to her that she didn’t know much of anything about the outside world and would more than likely need as much help as she could get. Grabbing a bag, there were several hanging from pegs by the door, she began stuffing food stuffs into it. Beginning with the jerky, she had had rancid meat before…it was not an experience she looked forward to repeating, and then grabbing one or two pieces of each type of fruit, vegetable, and other green thing.

She went back to the hall and began opening door after door, one of them opened into a small closet-like room that had racks of wine bags; she reached in and grabbed one, opened it and took a sniff. Her nose wrinkled at the smell of the alcohol and she poured it out onto the floor but tied the bag to the strap of the food bag she had slung over her shoulders.

She resumed opening doors, after a few more, she found what she was looking for…another door. She shoved it open and was happy to see that it did indeed lead to the outside.
